It includes components such as Assignment (assignment of the identity verification request), Verification (specific requirements for identity verification), and Supplementary Data (additional data to potentially support the verification request).
acmt.023 ISO 20022 Message: Usage
General
The acmt.023 message is the XML message format through which the debtor’s Payment Service Provider (PSP) can request identity verification from the creditor’s PSP. The creditor’s PSP should then respond in the form of an acmt.024 ISO 20022 message, confirming whether the Account Identification (e.g., name, IBAN) in the acmt.023 matches their records.

The acmt.023 message is expected to be used in SEPA SCT transactions starting in October 2025 to request a Verification of Payee (VOP) in real time.
